The land/sea continuum and the hydro-morpho-sedimentary evolution of estuarine zones
This emblematic issue of the laboratory includes i) the study of processes controlling sediment transport (consolidation, erosion/deposition of mixed sediments, flocculation, from the granular scale to a "sedimentary material or matrix" approach), ii) the dynamics of suspended matter concentrations, (iii) the impact of anthropogenic pressures (development, dredging) and climate change (from multi-decadal to century scales) on the behavior and evolution of morphosedimentary habitats in estuaries.
The laboratory is also conducting a study on understanding and conceptualizing the functioning of estuarine systems, via an inter-estuary approach, on a national and European scale.
