DHYSED collaborates with SCRIPPS in San Diego

As part of the short-term mobility program supported and encouraged by the DS, David le Berre, technician in the DHYSED laboratory, joined the M.O.D (Multiscale Ocean Dynamics) Laboratory at the SCRIPPS Institution of OCEANOGRAPHY in San Diego for a 5-month period.

The project, led by Arnaud Le Boyer (on the right in the photo), aims to improve the behavior of a vector (WIRE-WALKER) in order to limit the impact on turbulence measurements by shear probes.

Various configurations are being tested at sea. Vector behavior can be observed using accelerometer data. It provides information on the spectral frequency distribution of Wire-Walker oscillations on different axes.
